Chocolate Smoothies!

Mmmm…mm!

Cold, smooth drinks during the hot summer?… this sure beats the flavor of a soda pop! I have found a low-fat, quick and easy and way to, simple to make recipes…

check them out!

Chocolate-Covered (Tart) Cherry Smoothie

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons cocoa powder (I used the NOW brand, certified organic.)

1 tablespoon Lucuma powder (I used Navitas Naturals, certified organic.)

2 tablespoons tart cherry concentrate (I’ll be sharing an in-depth post on this soon – this stuff changed. my. life!)

1 frozen banana

4 ice cubes

1/2 to 1 cup of almond milk (I started with a 1/3 cup and added a little more – but with 1/3 cup, it was more like raw ice cream!)

Directions:

Toss ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.

Pour into a glass and enjoy this rich, decadent drink!

Note: I’m used to the tart cherry concentrate but it might be a bit strong for you if you aren’t. This smoothie is really, really chocolatey and the tart cherry shines through nicely. It’s not bitter, it’s delish! But if you aren’t a fan of even a slight bit of tartness, you may want to balance out the smoothie with either more sweetener, less tart cherry concentrate – or just use sweet cherries.

Chocolate-Banana Smoothie

Ingredients:

3 medium bananas, sliced, frozen

3/4 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tablespoon honey

1/2 cup low-fat milk

Preparation:

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.

Chocolate Almond Delight

Ingredients & Procedure:

10-12 oz. pure water

15 raw almonds

1/2 tsp. coconut extract

1.5 oz. protein powder (chocolate flavor)

Sugar or sweetener to taste (optional)

3-5 ice cubes (optional)

First, blend the almonds until creamy smooth in 1/2 the water, then add the rest of the ingredients & blend until smooth.

Banana Matcha White Chocolate Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 banana

1 big scoop of ice cream

Milk

Directions:

Throw it all in a blender and enjoy.

Chocolate Almond Smoothies

Ingredients:

1 cup unsweetened vanilla or original almond milk

2 medium bananas, sliced

2 tablespoons almond butter or 20 raw almonds, chopped

1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tablespoon pure maple syrup or agave syrup

1 cup ice cubes

Directions:

Add almond milk, bananas, almond butter, cocoa powder and maple syrup to blender container. Cover and blend until smooth. Add ice; cover and blend until smooth.

Makes 2 servings
